Platform (2020) is quite an intriguing piece in the horror genre. It explores the darker side of human desires and the consequences that follow. The atmosphere is dense, almost suffocating at times, filled with a sense of impending dread that lingers. The pacing is deliberately slow, allowing the tension to build, which can feel unsettling in a good way. There are some practical effects that stand out, and they really complement the unsettling narrative. The performances are raw, capturing the internal struggle of the protagonist beautifully. What I find distinctive is how it dives deep into the psychological aspects of temptation and the haunting aftermath of giving in. It’s definitely not your typical horror fare, and that’s what makes it interesting.
