So, Pluto's Housewarming is a neat little gem from 1947, directed by Charles August Nichols. You know, it's that classic Disney animation vibe, but it really leans into the slapstick humor. The pacing feels spot-on - you get just enough time with Pluto setting up his new doghouse before the turtle waddles in to mess things up. What I find distinct here is the way the turtle, despite being a minor character, brings this relentless energy that keeps Pluto on his toes. And then there's Butch, the bulldog, who adds another layer of chaos as he chases Pluto back to his old digs. It’s all very playful, but there’s an underlying theme of change and resilience that runs through it all. The animations, while simple, have this charming fluidity that draws you in. Just a delightful watch.
