Popsy Pop is a gritty little gem that dives headfirst into the murky waters of crime and betrayal. You’ve got Claudia Cardinale, who embodies a sort of reckless charm as Popsy. The tension ramps up when she betrays her partner Silva, played by Stanley Baker, which sets off a chain of events that's as chaotic as it is riveting. The South American jungle serves as a haunting backdrop, adding layers of danger and desperation. The pacing has this nice ebb and flow, alternating between heart-pounding moments and quieter, more introspective scenes. The performances feel raw and real, and the practical effects have a certain grit that really draws you into the world they’re inhabiting. It’s definitely not your run-of-the-mill heist film.
