Prey of the Jaguar is an interesting mix of action and thriller, capturing the raw essence of revenge cinema. You’ve got former Special Ops agent Derek Leigh, a character driven by grief and rage after a drug lord takes everything from him. The pacing is quite brisk, which keeps you engaged as he trains under a martial arts guru and transforms into The Jaguar. There's a certain grit to the practical effects that really sells the intensity of the fight scenes. The atmosphere is heavy, filled with a sense of impending doom as Derek hunts down his enemy. The performances, especially that of the lead, offer a nice blend of vulnerability and ferocity, making the character's journey feel personal and, well, a bit tragic too.
