So, 'Priest' is this wild ride set in a world where humanity's been at war with vampires forever. You’ve got this grim atmosphere, like a blend of steampunk and dystopia, that really pulls you in. The pacing is a bit uneven – some moments drag, but the action scenes, when they hit, carry a punch. I find the practical effects add this gritty texture, especially in the vampire designs. Paul Bettany as the Priest is intense; he brings a haunted quality that works well against the more supernatural elements. There's a hard-hitting theme of faith and sacrifice woven throughout, which gives it some depth beyond the action. It’s not your typical horror flick, that's for sure.
