So, 'Prince on Fire 1' is one of those films that really leans into the darker aspects of royal life. It starts off with a nice father-son moment, which is almost deceptive given what’s to come. The queen's conspiracy against the prince sets a tone of tension that wraps around the whole narrative. The pacing is interesting too; it doesn't rush, letting the drama simmer. You can feel the oppressive atmosphere in the castle, like the walls are closing in. There are some solid performances, particularly from the actors portraying the king and queen. It's got these practical effects that are surprisingly effective, enhancing the storytelling without overwhelming it. Definitely something unique in the drama genre, but not for everyone, I guess.
