Prison à domicile (1999) is an intriguing blend of comedy and social commentary. It has this quirky premise where overpopulated prisons lead to a scheme of placing model prisoners in family homes. The central couple, Jules and Norma, expect a harmless delinquent – only to be surprised (and not in a good way). The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but that adds to its charm, I think. The atmosphere mixes a lighthearted tone with some dark undertones about justice and family dynamics. The performances, especially from the leads, are genuine and offer a nice contrast to the absurdity of the situation. It’s one of those films that stands out for its concept and execution, albeit not without its flaws.
Features an interesting take on the prison system.Expect a mix of absurdity and reality in the performances.Offers a unique perspective on family dynamics.
