Puro Mula is a quirky little film that dives into the chaos of adulthood—or the lack thereof. Joel, a 28-year-old slacker, is just drifting through life, beer in one hand and guitar in the other. When his sister drops her kid on him, you can almost hear the collective sigh of dread. The film captures this mix of comedy and drama pretty well, as Joel's carefree existence gets turned upside down. The pacing is a bit uneven, which somehow adds to its charm. There's a rawness to the performances, especially from the kid, that felt genuine. The atmosphere is laid-back yet tense, especially as the kid goes missing—things take a darker turn, but it still keeps that comedic undertone. Definitely a unique take on family responsibility.
