Ramses (2007) is an interesting take on ancient Egypt. While the director remains unknown, the animation style has a certain charm, blending vibrant colors with a somewhat fluid, sometimes choppy motion that gives it a unique feel. The story follows a young archer and his general as they navigate the pressures of war against the Hittites, particularly the fierce Suppiluliuma. Themes of bravery and sacrifice are prominent here, and despite some pacing issues, the emotional beats do land well at times. You get a mix of action and deeper reflections on duty. It's not a run-of-the-mill animation, and the character designs have a distinctive flair that stands out in the genre. Definitely has that early 2000s vibe.
