Then there's the bird man—an unsettling design, and the practical effects are surprisingly effective for a lower-budget film. The way the film plays with themes of friendship and survival under duress is interesting too. It's not groundbreaking, but there's something compelling about its rawness that sticks with you after the credits roll.
