Real Time is this unique blend of comedy and drama that really plays with the idea of time and desperation. The film revolves around a compulsive gambler, and it’s almost like a ticking clock thriller, but with this offbeat humor woven in. You have this intense setup where he’s told he has just an hour to live, which sets a pace that feels both frantic and reflective. Randall Cole does a nice job balancing the urgency with some moments of levity. The performances are solid, particularly the lead. There’s this interesting exploration of choices and consequences that resonates more than you’d expect. Plus, the practical effects and minimalistic setting really make you focus on the characters and their turmoil, which I find pretty compelling.
