Red Sparrow really dives into the psyche of its lead, Dominika, capturing that chilling transformation from a dancer to a trained operative. The film has this dark, brooding atmosphere that really pulls you in. The pacing can feel a bit deliberate at times, but it feels intentional, building tension and unease throughout. The performances, especially by Jennifer Lawrence, are nuanced and compelling; you can almost feel her internal struggle. The practical effects, while not overly flashy, lend a rawness to the action. It’s a mix of espionage and personal turmoil, and the themes of manipulation and survival are pretty heavy but resonate deeply. Just a unique spin on the spy genre, really.
