RedLife is something of a raw dive into the depths of human despair. It juxtaposes Som, a girl grappling with her identity and dreams of love, against Ter, who seeks it through crime but finds only emptiness. The film’s pacing lends itself to a slow burn, allowing the audience to really sit with its themes of love, loss, and inevitability. The atmosphere is heavy, almost suffocating at times, reflecting the broken world these characters inhabit. The performances are strikingly authentic, capturing the conflict between hope and hopelessness. Practical effects are minimal but impactful, making you feel every bruise and heartbreak. It’s a stark portrayal, and while it’s not for everyone, it certainly leaves a mark.
