Refugee (2006) is a film that really captures the struggles of identity and belonging. The pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, but it adds to the raw emotional weight of Shiva's journey. The atmosphere is heavy with tension, especially when he confronts his brother, who's consumed by jealousy. The action sequences are grounded, not overly stylized, which gives them a sense of realism that fits the story well. It’s interesting to see how it weaves in themes of family and sacrifice, making it distinct from the original Telugu film Chatrapathi. Performances lean heavily on the intensity of the characters, and you can feel the desperation and hope in every scene. Definitely a film that leaves you thinking.
