Relative Sister is one of those films that plays with the complexities of familial relationships and love in a very raw way. Chan-joon’s existence is almost overshadowed by his relative sister, who seems so carefree that it almost feels like a commentary on modern relationships. The pacing can be a bit uneven, mirroring the emotional turmoil Chan-joon faces after his breakup, which feels all too relatable. The performances, particularly from the lead, bring a certain authenticity that helps ground the more surreal elements of the story. The atmosphere is tinged with a sense of longing and exploration, making you ponder the depths of connection and isolation. There are some striking moments, both visually and thematically, that linger with you long after the credits roll.
