Repossessed is a quirky blend of comedy and horror that takes a lighter approach to exorcism tales. It’s interesting how it revisits the character of Nancy Aglet, who’s now a mother herself, putting a unique spin on the whole devil possession trope. The pacing is a bit uneven, which some might find charming – it gives the film a laid-back, almost episodic feel. The practical effects are decent for its time, and there are a few genuinely funny moments that keep it engaging. Leslie Nielsen’s performance as Father Mayii adds a nice comedic touch, but it’s really about the oddball scenarios and the way it pokes fun at the genre while still staying somewhat creepy. Definitely a curious watch if you appreciate oddball horror-comedies.
