Reunion Massacre is one of those indie horrors that kind of creeps up on you. The tone is eerie from the get-go, thanks to that old fortune-telling machine that sets the whole thing in motion. Our protagonist’s slow, almost nostalgic trek to her high school reunion takes a dark turn when she finds herself in this abandoned building. The pacing is deliberate, building tension as the masked maniac lurks. I appreciated the practical effects, which add a gritty authenticity often missed in glossy productions. The performances aren’t always top-notch, but there’s something raw and relatable about the characters caught in this nightmare. Overall, it’s the atmosphere and the sense of dread that make it stand out for me.
