Revolver (1992) directed by Gary Nelson is a gritty exploration of revenge and resilience. It follows Nick Suster, a secret intelligence agent left paralyzed after a botched assassination. The atmosphere is tense, blending the action and crime genres effectively. The pacing has this nice rhythm, alternating between moments of high stakes and introspective character beats. The practical effects, especially during the action scenes, lend a raw quality to the film that feels quite authentic. What stands out for me is the central theme of determination in the face of adversity. The performances, particularly by the lead, really anchor the narrative, making it compelling even with its TV movie budget limitations. It's a different kind of action flick that has its quirks.
