Ripple Effect is a unique indie drama, blending music and personal strife in a fresh way. Philippe Caland, who also plays the lead, manages to create a gritty yet hopeful atmosphere. The film captures the struggle of a clothing designer grappling with bad karma and financial ruin; it feels very real. The performances are solid, particularly Caland's portrayal of Amer Atrash, who oscillates between desperation and determination. Pacing can be uneven at times, but it adds to the film’s raw edge. The score, woven into the narrative, enhances the emotional depth. It's not the kind of film that wraps everything up neatly, which is kind of its charm.
