So, 'Road Ends' is an interesting piece from '97, directed by someone I can't quite recall. It's a thriller, but it has this slow burn quality that keeps you on edge. Chris Sarandon plays Maceda, a real estate agent with a past, which gives the film a nice tension. There's this atmospheric quality to the near-vacant California inn where he hides out; it feels almost like a character itself. Mariel Hemingway as Kat adds a certain depth, her performance is subtle yet effective. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the uneasy vibes to settle in, and you can feel that sense of isolation in every scene. It's intriguing how it explores themes of fear and consequence, making it a distinctive watch in the genre.
