Roadside Massacre has that raw, gritty vibe you'd expect from a small-budget horror flick. The film slowly builds tension as Karen, played by Marina Resa, drags her friends into the mystery of her sister’s disappearance in this eerie mountain town. The locals are unsettling, just enough to keep you on edge. The pacing is decent, not too rushed, allowing for some character moments and awkward group dynamics that feel authentic. Practical effects are used effectively, enhancing the creepy atmosphere without relying too heavily on CGI. The performances are a mixed bag, but there's a certain charm in their authenticity. It’s distinct in its blend of slasher elements with a heavy dose of psychological horror.
Good for fans of independent horror.Interesting take on the missing person trope.Atmospheric setting enhances the overall tone.
