So, 'Rosalia'—it’s a unique piece, really. The atmosphere is heavy, almost suffocating at times, with that lighthouse setting that feels both isolating and oddly liberating too. You have Thanasis, stuck in his routine, and Rosalia, in this cage but yearning for something more. The film dives into themes of confinement versus freedom, like, really explores it. The performances have this rawness, you can feel their desperation through the screen. There’s minimal dialogue, which lets the haunting visuals and sound design do a lot of the talking. It’s got a slow pace, but it builds tension nicely, making you reflect on their situations. Yet, it’s not your typical drama, it leaves you with lingering thoughts and emotions.
