Roundheads and Cavaliers is an interesting comedy that plays around with historical reenactment. Alice, our protagonist, gets thrown into this quirky world and suddenly finds herself in the midst of a clash between two very different characters—a Roundhead and a Cavalier, each vying for her heart. The film's lighthearted tone is complemented by its amusingly anachronistic dialogue, which adds a layer of enjoyable absurdity. Pacing feels a tad uneven at times, but that just adds to the charm. The practical effects used to create battle scenes are surprisingly well done for a smaller production, making it visually engaging despite its comedy roots. Performances are spirited, especially from the lead trio, who manage to embody their characters' quirks with genuine enthusiasm. It's a bit of a romp, really.
