Rubberneck is an interesting little comedy that flirts with the absurd. The whole premise revolves around a 9-year-old kid, Noah, who’s blind as a bat after breaking his glasses. The comedic tension builds when he tries to rescue his father from a home invasion, which leads to a series of mishaps that are as chaotic as they are hilarious. I mean, the practical effects can be a bit hit or miss, but there's a charm to the film's low-budget feel. The pacing has this frantic energy, like you're on the edge of your seat, and it doesn't take itself too seriously, which is refreshing. The performances are decent, especially from the young lead, who really carries the weight of the film's wild premise. It's definitely got its quirks.
