So, 'Salton' is pretty intriguing. You’ve got this grad student, uptight like you wouldn't believe, who suddenly inherits his grandfather's place by the Salton Sea. The atmosphere is moody, with that haunting vibe the area is known for. I found the pacing a bit uneven at times, but it fits with the whole mystery aspect. The whole romance angle, woven through the oddball local woman he meets, adds a layer of charm. The performances, especially from the female lead, really stand out - they pull you into this weird, surreal world. And, while it’s not heavy on effects, the practical elements work well, grounding the mystery in reality. Definitely worth a watch if you appreciate indie films with an offbeat flavor.
