Salvador (Puig Antich) captures the oppressive air of Franco's Spain with a raw intensity that’s hard to shake off. Manuel Huerga does well to weave in the historical context without getting bogged down—there's a real sense of urgency woven through the narrative. The performances, especially from the lead, are striking. You can feel the weight of despair and courage. It’s not flashily edited, but the pacing feels right for the material, allowing moments to linger. The practical effects, especially in the depiction of the gaol, add to the grim authenticity. Definitely a film that invites reflection rather than spectacle.
