Sathya (2017) is one of those thrillers that slowly builds tension, almost like peeling an onion. You’ve got this IT guy in Australia, a bit of an everyman, who gets pulled back into an old romance when his ex reaches out about her missing daughter. The film has a gritty feel that’s enhanced by its pacing – it never rushes, but the stakes keep rising. Pradeep Krishnamoorthy does a solid job with the atmosphere, blending a sense of urgency with emotional depth. The performances, especially from the leads, feel genuine and raw, which is refreshing. What stands out is how it weaves personal relationships into the crime narrative, making it more than just a chase for answers. The practical effects in some scenes are a nice touch too; they haven't gone overboard with CGI, which is always a plus.
