Say I Do is a quirky little comedy that really plays with the absurdity of reality television. Directed by Juan Calvo, the film mixes the aspirations of wannabe actress Estrella with the cynical outlook of Victor, a film buff who can't stand those very shows. The chemistry between the two leads is surprisingly engaging, despite their contrived premise of faking a relationship for a game show prize. There's a charming, somewhat chaotic atmosphere throughout, helped by the vibrant color palette and some practical effects that give it a unique flair. The pacing feels just right, balancing the comedic moments with a hint of romance. It’s a light-hearted exploration of dreams and expectations, wrapped in the ridiculousness of TV culture. Definitely offers a fresh take on the rom-com genre.
