So, 'Scam' is an interesting mix of comedy and crime, right? It plays with the absurdity of the phone scamming world, but there's a dark twist. The pacing is a bit slow at times, especially in the buildup, but when it hits, it really captures that tension. The atmosphere is almost claustrophobic, with a lot of focus on the phone conversations that are both cringeworthy and darkly humorous. The performances are pretty solid, especially the lead who strikes a balance between being conniving and, oddly enough, sympathetic. It’s distinctive, I think, in how it captures the desperation on both ends of the line—both the scammer and the victims. Not your typical comedy for sure.
