Scarier Stories Than Ghosts Vol.1 is one of those anthology films that plays with your expectations. The three segments offer a mix of psychological horror and twisted narratives, with Fukuro's premise of a seemingly innocuous bag turning sinister—definitely unsettling. Joyu Sutoka dives into the obsession of a stalker, and it feels almost too real, capturing that eerie essence of living in fear. Moso Kankin, with its themes of delusion, really gets under your skin. The practical effects are low-budget but have a raw quality that works. The pacing is uneven at times, but it adds to the disorienting atmosphere. The unknown director's touch gives it a unique, almost underground vibe, making it stand out in the indie horror scene.
