Season of Sacrifice has this really eerie, almost palpable tension throughout. The wilderness setting really does a number on the atmosphere, making it feel claustrophobic despite the vastness. Katelyn and Kelsey, played by relatively unknown actors, bring a rawness to their roles that feels deeply relatable, especially in the midst of a supernatural threat. The pacing is kind of slow-burn, but it builds effectively, allowing the suspense to creep up on you. Then, there are the practical effects – they don't go overboard, but what’s there is surprisingly effective and adds to that unsettling vibe. It’s one of those films where the real horror lies in what you don't see, where the mystery of the disappearances just gnaws at you. Worth checking out if you’re into something more atmospheric than jump scares.
