Seclusion is one of those films that really leans into the isolation and paranoia of a wedding gone terribly wrong. The atmosphere is thick with tension, and the pacing keeps you on edge, especially as the friends realize they’re being hunted. Practical effects here are commendable, adding a raw edge that feels authentic, rather than relying on overused CGI. The performances range from solid to standout, capturing that mix of joy and dread that only a party in the middle of nowhere can evoke. It doesn’t break new ground, but it certainly explores familiar horror themes of trust and betrayal amidst a backdrop of beautifully eerie settings. There’s something about the way it captures that creeping dread that lingers long after the credits roll.
Strong atmosphere of dread and isolation.Effective use of practical effects.Interesting take on trust and betrayal themes.
