It’s got this mix of action and fantasy that feels like a nod to classic martial arts films, but with a fresh twist. The pacing takes a bit to find its rhythm, especially in the early scenes, but once it kicks in, the trials Luo Xiaotian faces are pretty engaging. The atmosphere does have that mystical vibe, especially with the Chengying Sword and its quirky donkey companion. Practical effects are used nicely here, avoiding over-reliance on CGI, which I think adds a certain texture to the whole experience.
