Shadow Man is one of those flicks that blends action and thriller elements with a dash of adventure, and you can definitely tell it's from the mid-2000s. Seagal plays Jack Foster, who’s unwittingly caught in this web of CIA intrigue and international kidnappings. The pacing is pretty brisk, keeping you on your toes, though there are moments where it feels like it’s meandering a bit, especially during the quieter scenes. The locations in Europe offer a nice backdrop, adding some atmospheric tension. There are practical effects that remind me of that era – not overly reliant on CGI, which gives it a certain grit. And while Seagal's performance is very much in line with his usual style, there's something about his persistence that fits well with the theme of a father on a desperate mission.
