Shifting Margin Part 1 is an intriguing little gem from 1991. Shot by Albert Gabriel Nigrin, it captures a statue of a horse in those serene Luxembourg Gardens, and you can’t help but feel the odd stillness of that moment. The use of 18fps gives it this peculiar, dream-like quality—almost like time is stretching. The Kodachrome super 8mm film adds a certain warmth and nostalgia, inviting you into this quaint slice of Parisian life. It’s only 3 minutes long, but it manages to convey a lot in its short runtime. There’s something hypnotic about the pacing, an almost meditative experience, really. Not much in the way of plot, but it evokes a sense of place and stillness that’s distinctively charming.
