So, 'SHITHEAD' is definitely one of those oddities that catches your attention for all the weird reasons. The film has this absurdly dark humor that pairs well with its off-kilter pacing, creating an atmosphere that's somewhere between cringe and curiosity. The premise, with a guy literally having 'shit for brains', offers this bizarre lens through which to examine mental health and the absurdities of life. The practical effects are surprisingly impressive, adding a tangible quality to the whole experience. Performances teeter on the edge of ridiculous and poignant, leaving you feeling a bit uneasy yet oddly reflective. It’s distinctive, for sure, but it might take a certain mindset to really appreciate what it’s trying to do.
This film seems to straddle the line between underground and cult. As far as formats go, it’s sparse; I’ve only seen a handful of digital copies floating around, and the physical media is even rarer. Collectors seem to be drawn to its unique premise and offbeat humor, though it's definitely not for everyone. So, if you come across a copy, it’s worth picking up for that oddball section of your collection.
