Sickness House is a lesser-known gem from 2006 that dives into claustrophobic horror. The atmosphere is thick with tension as a group of friends finds themselves quarantined during a New Year's Eve bash, and the feeling of dread builds with each passing hour. The pacing is deliberately slow at times, allowing the paranoia to seep in, and it plays with themes of trust and betrayal in a confined space. While the performances may not break new ground, they do a solid job of conveying the growing panic. The practical effects, although limited, pack a punch when they do appear, creating a visceral response. It’s definitely one of those films that sticks with you, especially if you appreciate the more obscure corners of the genre.
