So, 'Silent Introduction' is this interesting drama that centers around a record store clerk who has a pretty specific and, let’s say, snobby taste in music. The tension builds when a finance guy strolls in, wanting to buy this rare record – you know the type, all money and no soul. The atmosphere is thick with that subtle dread of pretentiousness on both sides, and you can almost feel the dusty shelves around them. The pacing has this nice, almost claustrophobic feel, as the dialogue crackles with that cultural clash. I found the performances genuine; they really embody the characters’ quirks and insecurities. It’s less about the record and more about what music means to these people, which is a nice touch.
