Silent Screamplay II is an interesting throwback to a campy era of horror that feels refreshing, really. The director, Royce Dudley, has this knack for avoiding the overused tropes of modern filmmaking. Instead of drowning us in CGI or convoluted flashbacks, he keeps it simple, which is honestly kind of nice. The pacing ebbs and flows, almost reminiscent of grindhouse films, which gives it a unique vibe. Elina Madison and Chris Blacksmith are the standout duo here, especially Chris, whose unexpected comedic timing really lightens the darker moments without undermining the tension. The practical effects give it an authentic feel that many contemporary films lack, making it stand out in its own quirky way.
