Sitting Target is one of those films that really nails the gritty underbelly of crime and revenge. Phillip J. Roth directs with a rawness that complements the tough performances, especially from the lead, who brings a palpable intensity to Tony Rico. The pacing strikes a balance between tension and explosive action, particularly in the early scenes where he's ensnared by the mob. The practical effects, especially during the house explosion, are striking; they add a layer of realism that modern CGI often lacks. As Rico comes back from the brink, you really feel the weight of his suffering and his mission for retribution. It’s a darker shade of the revenge thriller genre that’s often overlooked in favor of flashier titles.
