Skuggfaxe is a curious blend of animation and horror that feels like peeking into a child's nightmare. The atmosphere is thick with tension, and the way the two ghosts interact is both eerie and captivating. The animation style is somewhat unconventional, which adds to its charm. You get this sense of dread contrasted with a childlike innocence, making it quite unique. The pacing is a bit off-kilter—sometimes dragging, sometimes rushing, but it all adds to that uneasy feeling. I admire the practical effects used; they lend a tactile quality even in animation. While the director remains unknown, the film does a great job of exploring themes of fear and imagination. It’s definitely not your average kids’ flick.
