Skyline is one of those films that really pulls you into its chaotic atmosphere. The opening sets up a tense vibe with that eerie glow invading Los Angeles, and it doesn’t let up. You can feel the urgency in the pacing as the characters scramble to survive this sudden alien onslaught. The practical effects, especially the visual design of the aliens and their ships, stand out. They give it a raw feel that contrasts with the more polished CGI-heavy stuff out there. Performances are a mixed bag, but they work within the frantic energy of the story. It’s not a groundbreaking take on the genre, but it has a certain charm in its execution that makes it memorable in its own right.
