'Slickers vs. Killers' is one of those quirky gems from the early '90s that blends action and comedy in a rather unique way. You've got Success Hung, a cell phone salesman who really thinks he’s on top of the world, until he gets tangled up in something way over his head after witnessing a mob hit. The pacing is a bit all over the place but that kinda adds to the charm, right? The practical effects are surprisingly decent for the budget, and you can tell the cast really embraced their roles. There’s this underlying theme about credibility and the consequences of exaggeration, which gives it more depth than you'd expect. It's definitely not your typical buddy cop flick, and it has its own vibe that's quite distinctive.
