So, 'Son of Dracula' directed by Robert Siodmak is quite the interesting piece from '43. You get this dark, gothic atmosphere right off the bat. Alucard, the Count, played by Louis Hayward, has this suave yet sinister air that really draws you in. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but that adds to the eerie tension, I think. The film explores themes of identity and the clash of old-world horror with new-world naiveté. And then there are those practical effects—it’s not overly flashy, but they create a genuine ambiance. Plus, the performances are solid, especially from the supporting cast. It’s distinct in how it plays with the Dracula mythos, shifting focus on the son instead of the father. Really worth discussing among collectors, if you ask me.
