So, 'Songlap' is this gritty piece that dives into the murky waters of baby trafficking in Malaysia. You really feel the weight of the brothers' moral dilemmas throughout the film. Am, played by Shaheizy Sam, is kind of a reckless character, while Syafie Naswip’s Ad is more the introspective type, and their chemistry is pretty compelling. The atmosphere is heavy, almost suffocating at times, and it really makes you sit with the tension. The pacing’s deliberate, allowing you to soak in the dire circumstances they face. I appreciate the grounded performances, especially from Sara Ali as Hawa, who just complicates things further for the brothers. It’s all very raw, and you can't help but feel for these characters caught in such a mess.
