So, 'Southside with You' is this sweet little film that takes you right into the heart of Chicago during the summer of '89. It's basically a romantic drama but it has a very intimate feel, almost like you’re just a fly on the wall of this first date between Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson. The pacing is deliberate, allowing you to really soak in their conversations and the atmosphere of the city. I found the performances really engaging; they capture the early chemistry and aspirations of these two figures who would go on to change the world. The film doesn't rely on flashy effects, it’s all about the dialogue and those quiet moments that reveal so much about who they are. Definitely has a unique charm.
