Star Trek: Insurrection has a unique vibe compared to its predecessors. It dives into some deeper ethical dilemmas, which is nice for a change. The pacing feels a bit more relaxed, letting you soak in the lush visuals of the Ba'ku planet. You can definitely see the practical effects shining through, especially in the scenes with the Son'a ships. The performances, particularly by Picard and Data, are solid, giving an interesting twist to the usual Starfleet moral quandaries. It’s a mixed bag for fans, some love its focus on character over action, while others might miss the grand scale. Still, has an earnest charm that makes it distinctive in the franchise.
Released on DVD in 1999, later on Blu-ray in 2009.Runtime: 103 minutes, rated PG-13.Features practical effects alongside early CGI.Part of the Star Trek film series, ninth installment.
