So, 'The Phantom Menace' is a mixed bag, depending on who you ask. The visuals have that classic late-90s flair—lots of CGI, which was groundbreaking at the time, but it feels a bit dated now. The Podrace scene? That’s where the film really shines, showcasing some impressive practical effects. I think the pacing struggles, especially with the political dialogue that can drag. Still, you can't ignore the performances. Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon brings a calm strength, while young Jake Lloyd's Anakin has a certain charm, even if it’s divisive. The themes of fate and destiny set up Anakin’s tragic journey well, but it’s the world-building that stands out, even if it’s a bit convoluted at times.
