So, 'Succubus' from 2012, it’s an interesting piece. The atmosphere is thick with dread, and it really nails that creeping horror vibe. Emma, our protagonist, is just a student but gets caught up in this excavation that leads to some dark, unexpected places. I mean, there’s a palpable sense of isolation when her nightmare begins after she returns home. The pacing is deliberate, allowing you to really sit with the tension, which I appreciate. And while the director isn't well-known, the practical effects used here are surprisingly effective for the budget. The performances have a raw quality that adds to the overall unsettling feel of the film. Definitely has a unique approach to the horror genre.
Strong atmosphere of dread throughout.Interesting take on archaeology and horror.Practical effects elevate the unsettling moments.
