Survive The Night is a gritty little gem from '93, directed by Bill Corcoran. It dives into the tense atmosphere of the South Bronx, where you instantly feel the oppressive danger lurking. The pacing is relentless, as psychiatrist Vic and his family find themselves trapped in a nightmare with a youth gang led by the chilling character Ice. The practical effects, while not over the top, serve to heighten the stakes and tension throughout. The performances are solid; you can really feel the vulnerability of the characters as they navigate an increasingly hostile environment. There's a rawness to the storytelling that captures the desperation and moral dilemmas faced when survival is on the line. It’s definitely a distinct piece of early '90s TV movie work.
